The Association today is based loosely on the former unit structure that existed in the post WW1 era, roughly from 1919 to 1943, after which the horsed component evolved into a mechanised regiment, namely the 6 NSWMR, until it was itself disbanded and reformed as an infantry unit, the 2/19 RNSWR. However, history is repeating itself and many infantry units are being reformed into mechanised/mounted infantry.
As the mounted group formed by Sgt Frank Morgan was based around the Trundle Troop, this lineage has been retained and as the strength is at roughly squadron level it is being identified with B Sqn of which Trundle troop was part of.
Given the dispersal of today's riders it is more convenient for training purposes to consider the mounted group as two half troops, Tp 1 located in Trundle and Tp 2 located in Ourimbah. While we are a regimental association, all our riding members must also be financial members of the Australian Light Horse Association Inc.
The Association has also re-established the Regimental Newsletter "Toujours Pret". This is a quartely round up of all Association news and events. All members are asked to contribute and we would also like to hear from all former Regimental Association members.
