During the post WW1 period the Regimental HQ was at Millthorpe and the unit history with the exploits of the 6 LHR are well document and will not be repeated here. The history of the unit can be found at www.lighthorse.org.au and on the RAACA Black Berets site.
Today's Association evolved from the original 6 Light Horse Veteran's Association and the riding troop formed by Sgt Frank Morgan, Trundle Troop, in 1987. Frank was himself a former trooper of B Sqn, Trundle troop prior to the outbreak of WW2 where he transfered to the AIF and served overseas.
Regimental HQ of the 6 LHR was at Millthorpe, near Orange with squadrons based at other regional centres in the west of NSW. During this time the regiment was part of 1 Division, 4 Brigade with its sister regiments being 1 LHR, 7 LHR and the 21 LHR.
